Caregiving and Chan
March 12 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Come and participate in a discussion led by Raquel Lambert, a long-distance student of Guo Gu, as she shares her insights on being a caregiver and her journey in Buddhist practice. We will meet in-person at the Tallahassee Chan Center and also be streaming this live on Zoom.
About Raquel Lambert
Raquel’s spiritual path was significantly shaped by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, which shifted her focus from social activism to a deeper exploration of Buddhism. Alongside her responsibilities as a caregiver to two elderly women, holding a full-time job, and being a devoted mother to two children, she exemplifies the essence of mindfulness and dedication. Her commitment to her Buddhist practice is evident in her longstanding daily sitting practice, a discipline she has nurtured for over thirty years. Raquel’s journey into formal Buddhist practice began in 2017 when she joined the Atlanta Dharma Jewel Monastery (Chung Tai Chan tradition), marking a significant milestone in her spiritual exploration. Despite her demanding schedule, she also finds time to volunteer regularly at the Tallahassee Chan Center, further demonstrating her dedication to her faith and community.
