This is our annual retreat to remember Master Sheng Yen. This year, instead of a Beginner’s Mind Retreat, we will hold a three-day intensive Chan retreat. Please note that the retreat starts early on Friday afternoon. It will include instructions for sitting and walking meditation, yoga exercises, Dharma talks, one-on-one interview with Dharma Teacher Guo Gu. Vegetarian meals will be provided.

The Tallahassee Chan Center has a limited number of beds reserved for retreatants in gender-separated housing. Please make a note in your application if you wish to stay on site. We also have camping grounds for those who wish to stay on the 5-acre lot. If you wish to stay at the center before and/or after the retreat, please email us to make arrangements. Please also make a note if you wish to come earlier than when the retreat starts.

COVID-19 Protocol: All in-person retreatants and volunteers will be mandated to be fully immunized for COVID-19 prior to acceptance and be required to sign a waiver beforehand.

The online retreat will be done at the applicants own pace. We suggest that you follow a light schedule as the Zoom link will be minimally monitored. There are currently no plans for interview opportunity for online retreatants at this time, but we are monitoring the COVID situation and the number of in-person retreat applicants.
