About this ceremony
We host a monthly ceremony to recite the Bodhisattva Precepts as a way to recollect and renew our vows of the Bodhisattva way. Both those who have taken the formal vows and those who have not are welcome.
Schedule
| 6:00 pm | In-person and Zoom doors open |
| 6:00 – 6:30 pm | Bodhisattvas engage in personal prostrations |
| 6:30 – 7:00 pm | Bodhisattvas share and confess (private session) |
| 7:00 – 7:15 pm | Open for everyone (public session) — in-person or via Zoom |
| 7:15 – 8:00 pm | Public session — 15 min chanting, 30 min Q&A |
For Bodhisattvas
Those who have formally taken the Bodhisattva Precepts are asked to wear their robe and sash. If attending in person, bring the robe and sash to the Center in a pouch and put it on just before entering the Chan Hall. If participating from home, create a dedicated space for practice and put on the robe and sash just before joining the Zoom gathering.
If you would like to come before 6:30 pm to do repentance prostrations, you are welcome to do so.
To receive the private Bodhisattva Precepts Zoom link (Room 1), please email tallahassee.chan@gmail.com with the year you received your Bodhisattva Precepts, along with the group and context in which you took them.
The public is welcome to join from 7:00 pm onward via the Room 2 Zoom link above, or in person at the Chan Center.
