Please join us on Sunday, May 3rd from 12:30-3:00pm ET to celebrate Vesak, the day of the Buddha’s birth. The significance of Vesak is to commemorate the Buddha’s birth, awakening, and parinirvana. It is a reminder of our true nature. Buddha means “awake.” The Vesak celebration consists of offering of flowers and showering of a baby Buddha statue. The offering of flowers signify the adornment of awakening; the showing of the baby buddha statue symbolizes the purification of our minds to revealing our true awakened nature.
Those in Tallahassee can come to the Center for food, music, and Dharma talk, while those from afar can join us on Zoom. There is a suggested donation of $25, but pay what you can (or nothing at all!) and join us for the celebration. See the event details and program below.
